COURSE INTRODUCTION

About This Programme

The 24-Hour HAZWOPER Training course is designed for employees who may enter or work at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. The program provides essential knowledge required to recognize hazardous conditions, understand potential exposure risks, and follow appropriate safety procedures while working in or around contaminated areas. The training is aligned with the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and applicable regulatory requirements for occasional site workers.

Participants will gain a practical understanding of hazardous waste operations, emergency response principles, workplace hazards, personal protection, and safe work practices. The course helps workers develop the awareness needed to reduce exposure and contribute to safer hazardous work environments.

COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS

How You’ll Be Assessed

After completing the learning material and required module quizzes, students may attempt the final course assessment. The examination is designed to evaluate understanding of the key concepts covered throughout the training.

Assessment Pattern:

  • The examination is open book.
  • The maximum examination time is 2 hours.
  • A minimum score of 70% is required to pass.
  • If the first attempt is unsuccessful, the examination may be retaken.
  • A maximum of three examination attempts is permitted within a 10-hour period.
  • After three unsuccessful attempts, students must wait 24 hours before attempting the examination again.
  • Students who successfully pass the examination cannot retake it simply to improve their score.
  • There is currently no separate comprehensive program examination; successful completion of the required course examinations completes the program.
