About This Programme

The 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training course provides comprehensive preparation for workers involved in hazardous waste operations, cleanup activities, emergency response, and other work environments where exposure to hazardous substances may occur. The training is based on OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and addresses the knowledge and safety practices needed before employees begin covered hazardous waste operations.

Through this course, participants develop a stronger understanding of hazardous materials, workplace exposure, site safety, emergency procedures, protective equipment, and contamination control. The program is suitable for personnel who require detailed HAZWOPER training before working at covered hazardous waste sites.

  • The examination is open book.
  • Students have up to 2 hours to complete the examination.
  • A minimum score of 70% is required for a passing result.
  • Students may retake the examination if they do not pass.
  • Up to three attempts may be completed within a 10-hour period.
  • Following three unsuccessful attempts, a 24-hour waiting period applies.
  • Students who pass may not retake the examination solely to obtain a higher score.
  • Program completion is based on successful completion of the required course assessments.
