The refresher program revisits key HAZWOPER concepts, including regulatory requirements, site characterization, hazard communication, hazardous-substance handling, health surveillance, toxicology, PPE, decontamination, air monitoring, and emergency-response planning.

The training is intended to reinforce existing knowledge and promote safe practices when working in environments involving hazardous substances.

COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS

How You’ll Be Assessed

  • The examination is open book with a 2-hour time limit.
  • A minimum score of 70% is required for successful completion.
  • Students who do not pass may attempt the examination again.
  • A maximum of three attempts is permitted within a 10-hour period.
  • After three unsuccessful attempts, a 24-hour waiting period applies.
  • A passing examination cannot be retaken to improve the score.
  • There is currently no separate comprehensive program examination; students must successfully complete the applicable course assessments.
