The Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training course prepares personnel for the hazards and emergencies associated with offshore oil and gas operations. It combines theoretical instruction with practical training in survival, helicopter escape, firefighting, first aid, evacuation, environmental awareness, and emergency teamwork.

Learners may attempt the course assessment after studying the learning materials and completing the module quizzes. Multiple-choice questions from an extensive question bank evaluate understanding.

Assessment pattern:

  • The open-book assessment must be completed within two hours.
  • A minimum score of 65% is required to pass.
  • An unsuccessful assessment may be attempted again.
  • A maximum of three attempts is permitted within a 48-hour period.
  • After the third attempt, learners must wait 48 hours before trying again.
  • A passed assessment cannot be repeated solely to improve the score.
  • No separate final programme examination is offered; all required assessments must be passed.
