COURSE INTRODUCTION

About This Programme

Basic Life Support (BLS) training provides essential knowledge and practical skills for responding to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and airway obstruction. The course introduces key principles of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) use, choking response, and effective emergency communication.

The course is designed to build confidence and competence so participants can respond quickly and appropriately during a medical emergency. Training covers adult, child, and infant emergencies as well as team-based response techniques and other critical life-saving situations.

Exam Pattern:

  • Time allowed: 3 hours
  • The examination is open book.
  • A minimum score of 65% is required to pass.
  • Learners who do not pass may retake the examination.
