COURSE INTRODUCTION

About This Programme

Confined spaces can present serious risks because their size, configuration, restricted access, or limited ventilation can make normal work activities more difficult and increase exposure to hazardous conditions. Workers entering these areas may encounter risks including hazardous atmospheres, engulfment, entrapment, restricted movement, and other physical dangers.

This Confined Space Safety course explains the characteristics of confined spaces and the precautions required before and during entry. Learners will develop an understanding of permit-required spaces, entry procedures, team responsibilities, atmospheric hazards, monitoring, ventilation, emergency response, and rescue considerations. The training is intended to help workers and supervisors recognise risks and apply appropriate controls when working in or around confined spaces.
