COURSE INTRODUCTION

About This Programme

A Permit-to-Work system is an important safety control used to manage activities that involve significant hazards or require additional precautions. It provides a formal process for authorising specific work and helps ensure that appropriate safety measures are established before high-risk tasks begin.

This course explains the purpose and operation of permit-to-work systems and examines the types of work that may require a permit. Learners will explore permit content, responsibilities, approval procedures, permit periods, extensions, and closure requirements. By completing the programme, participants will understand how permits are prepared, issued, followed, monitored, and closed to support safer working practices.
